MLC currently has 2 school programs geared at ages 12-18. "Girl Talk Café" teaches girls about healthy body image and self esteem and "S-EXpensive?" exposes the myths about sex and relationships presented to girls alone or co-ed classes. Both are presented best in a crowd of about 12-30, although assemblies can work too. We have presented in health classes, lunch hour/after school programs, and community centres in Peel and Halton region. These programs are free of charge for the community.
Our Goal: teach young people the truth about who they are and empower them to make informed choices. In a world full of false and negative messages, C2K programs come in with positive and challenging thoughts that leave the students with a feeling of purpose.

Girl Talk Café is an interactive discussion for girls of ages 12-18. It's an opportunity for girls to discuss issues pertaining to self esteem, media influence and relationships. It is a time to empower girls to be confident and happy with who they are!
Girl Talk Café creates an atmosphere where girls can open up and encourage one another. It remains non-judgmental, culturally sensitive, age appropriate and tailored for the specific audience. We use a variety of interactive games, activities, small groups, media examples and real life stories to get the message across.

- What it really means to be "Attractive" and "Beautiful"
2. Healthy Self Esteem

- Relationship Scenarios skits
- Influences on relationship choices

S-EXpensive? is an interactive presentation engaging teens in a conversation about the potential costs of sexual activity. Most teens are aware of the physical consequences of sex such as STIs, unplanned pregnancy etc., but through many different opportunities we have had speaking with students, we have realized teens are unaware of the emotional costs.
S-EXpensive Outline:
